Materials & Tools
Everything you need is sourceable locally in Nigeria. Here's a full list so you can start preparing before you even begin your first module.
Pattern & Prototype Materials
- 12 cardboard papers in different colors (for pattern drafting)
- Top bond glue (for gumming papers together for prototypes)
Bag Construction Materials
- Leather or bag fabric of choice (non-stretchy)
- Kariboard
- Marco (imported Marco 2mm)
- Chipboard / recycled brand papers
- Lense material (leather padding)
- Evostic gum (OCi or Energy brand recommended)
- Lining (velvet preferred, other bag linings acceptable)
- Regular foam (⅛ or ¾ inch)
Note on the sewing machine: A black-head domestic sewing machine is the minimum requirement — no industrial machine needed. Use needle sizes 21, 22, or 23 for best results with bag fabrics and leather.

No prior experience is needed. The course starts from the very basics — understanding what a structured bag is, how to measure, how to read and draft a pattern — before moving into more complex gusset systems and full bag tutorials.
